오렌지쥬스의 치아 법랑질 침식효과에 대한 연구

Abstract
최근 들어 산성 음료의 소비급증과 함께, 치아 경조직의 손상을 초래하는 양대 질환의 하나인 치아침식증에 대해 관심이 높아지고 있다. 특히 이러한 음료의 주 소비층이 소아청소년이라는 점에서 치아경조직 손실의 우려는 더 커진다. 본 연구는 오렌지 쥬스에 의한 법랑질의 침식 효과를 분석할 목적으로 현재 시판되는 오렌지 쥬스 제품 중 선호도가 높은 4종을 선택하여 산도, 완충효과 및 일부 무기성분 농도를 분석하고 이에 의한 법랑질 침식 정도를 표면미세경도 변화로 간접 측정하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 4종의 오렌지 쥬스 시료의 평균 산도는 pH 4.0 으로서 치아 침식증을 유발하기에 충분한 수준이었으며, 실제로 모든 시료에 의해 법랑질 침식이 유발되었다(p＜0.05).
2. 법랑질의 침식은 비교적 단시간(10분)안에 유의한 수준으로 일어났다. 오렌지 쥬스에 10분간 담근 후의 법랑질 미세경도는 담그기 전에 비해, 델몬트 92.8%, 썬키스트 92.7%, 아침에 쥬스 90.1%, 썬업 88.8% 이었다.
3. 각 오렌지 쥬스 제품 간의 침식유발 정도에는 유의한 차이가 없었다(p＞0.05).
Acidic drink has been known as a cause of tooth erosion. The purpose of this study is to verify the acid levels of orange juices in market and evaluate the erosion effects on the enamel of deciduous teeth by orange juices in relatively short period of time.
With four kinds of orange juice selected from market, pH, buffering capacity and concentration of Ca and P ion were measured. And forty segments of normal enamel of deciduous incisors were divided into four groups and level of erosion was measured by surface hardness test before and after soaking at 50 ml of orange juice for 10 minutes.
The results of this study showed that the average pH of orange juices was 4.0 and this pH value was so acidic as to cause the tooth erosion. There were differences in small quantity for each group of teeth. however, the result was statistically so significant that orange juices can cause enamel erosion in relatively short period of time.
